Due to the great success of the TV programme ARIA last year, a new season of this opera competition has started on Sunday 2 October. This programme by Broadcast Company MAX will look for the new opera star in The Netherlands. In 8 episodes the candidates are challenged with different vocal assignments. ARIA will be hosted by Dionne Stax. Missed an episode? Watch it via NPO Start. 

For the occasion, Gas Station (Westergasfabriek) in Amsterdam has been converted into a blistering music arena in which the candidates compete against each other in eight episodes. The opera talents will be accompanied live by the young professionals from the National Youth Orchestra conducted by Leonard Evers. The recording of this exciting music programme took place this summer. The three jury members this year are Tania Kross, Rosemary Joshua and Floris Kortie. And of course there will be a secret judge as well.
