National Youth Orchestra

The NJO National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands was founded in 1957. It offers young talented musicians between 18 and 27 years old the opportunity to perform orchestral and chamber music at a (pre)professional level. For instance during the NJO Summer Festival, an annual festival involving the most beautiful locations in the province of Gelderland, and during the NJO Winter Tour, when the orchestra travels to the best concert halls in the country. Concert master An-Sofie Perneel during the NJO Summer Tour 2024 

During the NJO Summer Tour 2024, Dutch conductor and NJO artistic advisor Antony Hermus teamed up with pianist Boris Giltburg and director Peter Leung in a Roukens - Rachmaninov - Stravinsky trilogy. Audiences were captivated by the colourful Petrushka choreography created by Peter Leung and the musicians, the orchestra members doubling at times as dancers, mime artists and extras. Concerts took place at Muziekzomer Gelderland Festival, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Konzerthaus Berlin (Young Euro Classic). Read more >>>
