ARIA is a brand new music programme by broadcast company 'Omroep Max' in which ten opera talents battle for the final round. For the occasion, the Gashouder (Westergasfabriek) in Amsterdam has been converted into a blistering music arena in which the candidates compete against each other in eight episodes. The programme moves from Mozart to Puccini and from Wagner to Rossini, all accompanied live by the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO), conducted by Leonard Evers. The recordings of this exciting music programme took place this summer, the eight episodes will be broadcast weekly from Sunday 10 October at 20:30 on NPO1 by Omroep MAX. The presentation is done by Dionne Stax, the three jury members are Tania Kross, Henk Poort and Rosemary Joshua. Check Orchestra members ARIA to see which NJO musicians are playing in the orchestra.

The programme is developed by Medialane and Omroep MAX in collaboration with Dutch National Opera.
